Just bought this 91/30, the woodwork and metal are in nice condition, the barrel shows a little muzzle wear but it still shoots well with the Hungarian ex mil ammo i was using today.

With the sights at 100m the rifle fired 4ins high at 25m.

The trigger is very heavy and the bolt action is not the slickest i have come across in a rifle but i think i am going to enjoy shooting this latest addition to my collection.
It will be interesting to compare the MN against my G98, CLLE & Martini at the longer ranges, ie 400 to 600m in the future.

I like mine. It shoots just about the same as yours. Mine is an Izzy and was made in 1942.

Kinda surprised that the 91/30 hex receiver has a 1925 date still remaining. I got one that the barreled receiver had been shaved and a date current to configuration stamped in place. I was under the impression the receivers were old hex reciever parts that had not been used before when production shifted to the 91/30s. But.. looks like wrong again.... as I often am. Looks like they didn't do to yours what they did to mine when they reconfigured the original model 91.
Looks like yours came from the Chatellerault Aresenal to start with as a M91 as well. At least the barrel did.. probably the barrel and hex receiver are original mates and the barrel cut down slightly to the shorter 91/30 length?

Just picked up my 1942 Izhevsk M91/30 last Friday in the former DDR.
I cleaned it a bit( wasn't that dirty) and made some close-up pictures of the stamps under the wood line.
I document every weapon I have like that.
Got the pictures both on line and printed out on paper.
I yet have to take some pictures of the "exterior".
