I have a BSA converted smle to a target version the rear sight is removed and a Parker hale aperture sight fitted.

A very accurate rifle about 18 month ago I lost the screw that fastens the rear sight to the reciever I have tried every were to obtain a replacement screw/

In desperation I took a no 4 ejector screw to work there is guy comes in a couple days a week think he is a toolmaker.

He likes talking guns especially Enfield I showed him the screw and explained the problem yeah he said it will be a enfield thread leave it with me Ill have a look at it.

That was at 10;00am lunch time he came to see me dropped two screws in my hand plus the one I had given him for the template. They will do the job my freind he said the smle ones are longer to accomadate the rear sighjt let me know how you get on.

He then wandered off out of the office.

I couldnt wait to get home and try them.

They fit perfect so the rifle is a shooter and I have a spare screw to boot.

Isnt life grand.

I went to see him the next day to thank him he was as pleased as I was anything else I can help with just ask was his parting shot the more intresting and challenging the better.

I cant believe it my own gunsmith yipee.

Cant wait for a range day yipee.
