brazilian Musquefal restored!!!!!!!!!!

Some time back, I found a brazilian Musquefal Mauser carbine at a dealers internet site and decided to order it.
From the pic I knew, tha Bubba was the former owner of the poor rifle.
The barrel channel was buggered up, the upper band ruined and the spring clip for the handguard was ripped out of the guard.
The handguard was attached to the gun with silicone glue!

Otherwise it was in good working order with a like new barrel.
The stock was obviously made from a israeli K98k beech stock, so I ordered a factory new israeli K98 stock to make a replacement stock from it:

I had to shorten it front and rear, fit the rubber butt plate and the nose cap with band retaining spring.
Also the piece of wood between the mag cutout and the trigger cutout had to be removed, because this is the only way to get the rifle assembled.

The replacement stock and the old handguard were coated 4 times with a linseed tupentine mix, the handguardspring I had to glue in with acraglas gel.
A collecting fellow gave me a brazilian M1909 upper band(THANKS A LOT Peter!)), which I milled in the front notch and reblued it(original recipe of the Erfurt rifle factory).
All other parts were cleaned and inspected.
And now here it is, nice and shiney:
