It's an original Charleville 1777. Named after the armory in Charleville-Mézières, Ardennes, France. It became the basis for the pattern of the Springfield Musket of 1795. They are 60 1/2 inches, with a 45 inch barrel, It fires a .69-caliber ball and has a fire ratio of approximately 2-3 shots per minute with a maximum range of about 200 meters, although only fairly accurate for up to 50 meters.

NOPE!
This was taken on a very cold December day. The rounds were hitting a target 50 mtrs down range so the charge was OK. You can only get so much powder in the pan!!

It's not my rifle - it is the President of the Club who is shooting it. Taken on the day that we ( except me! ) celibrated the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Austerlitz. I said I would wait for 2015 and I would calibrate Waterloo. I did mention a few dates from the Peninsula War but they declined the offer
Think I forgot Trafalgar
