Dutch Windmill is made by Bavaria Brouwerij , Netherlands. At least that's what it says online. The label says...on the back in small letters...brewed and bottled for H-West B.V., Maarssen, Holland.
Not exactly premium in quality...nor price. But not bad. But not as good as Heineken or Grolsch. This must be the Old Milwaukee of Dutch beers.

At least it doesn't bear the three worst words in brewing:
"Brewed Under Licence"
(That only ever worked well with American Budweiser, but then, that product would be difficult to spoil*)
*Now watch someone manage it

Back in the 60's when Schlitz was considered a premium beer, the Joe Schlitz brewing company came up with Old Milwaukee to offer as an "economy priced" brew at a cheaper price point than their "premium" Schlitz brand. I drank a lot of it in college as "cheap" was my price point. It was a big hit in America for a while.
Now days it's still around on a shrinking volumne of sales I'd think. But Schlitz beer, which it was brewed as a second step two, isn't premium beer any more and just about out of production as well.

Back in the 60's when Schlitz was considered a premium beer,
I drank it in Montreal, Toronto and Chicago on my first trip as a Merchant Navy Cadet in '66. I remember we ordered it in 2's and put salt in it to get rid of the acid. We called it Shi**
