Tiger Beer

Guy I know mentioned this beer from time in the service. I happened to see the import in the store the other day and bought some.

Tiger Beer was born in Singapore with the aid of Heineken and Fraser & Neave. Today is a very popular beer in that part of the world and is widely exported as well. The malt ingredients are brought from Europe and Australia and the hops from Germany.

Has a German beer kind of taste. I like it.

That brings back memories

I drank quite a bit of Tiger beer during my two years in Singapore. It was draught beer and not bottled that we drank. Newcomers were advised to drink tops (a bit of lemonade added) before drinking it straight. The Malcolm Club on Changi RAF base was the main watering hole along with the Bowling Alley.

Regards

Peter.

I remember it from Saigon and around. Sold by junior Vietcong on the side of the road. Usually hot, not iced. Every time you drank one, which for me wasn't many, you wondered if you maybe were being poisened.

But... the world has revolved a few times since then.

Reminds me of lowenbrau . Maybe the German hops. Not a bad beer at all. But at just under $8 a six pack it's special ,not regular brew to go along with usual afternoon cigar.
