Welcome to the Milsurp After Hours. Glad you found us, Drake. Really well focused photos. Wish everybody had your skill with the camera. You will find a lot of fellow collectors of Brit guns here.

Thanks for the welcome, folks. Seems like this place is right up my alley.

I use a Canon Powershot A560. Nothing very high-end but lighting and focus matter a great deal more than the number of megapixels. This camera advertises 7.1 MP, but here's a photo from my older Nikon E2000 which was advertised at 2.0 MP.

Here's the same photo tweaked a bit in Photoshop-

A tweaked version of the Enfield and Webley photo.

I actually like the untweaked webley better.

Great clarity though. I got a Nikon coolpix 2200 and a Pentax Optio W20 waterproof. With me it's a hit and miss thing as to what comes out.

I'm still holding on to my Kodak stock. Film and slides will return some day.......I hope.....maybe.

By the way, for general information, I resized the images that Drake posted by an html trick to fit the screen. Any images as large as he linked can be added as an attachment rather than a link and when anybody clicks on it, the 1000 pixel or so size will be seen but the post will be limited to less than screen size and no edit by me or a moderator will be needed.

Bumping this to add a new member to the family. An unmodified, non-import marked 1937 Enfield No2 MkI. I understand that this revolver was officially adopted to replace the Webley MkVI in 1938.

Here are a few comparison shots with my 1944 Enfield No2 MkI**. It's not import marked but it does have the proof stampings which I believe identify it as a weapon released for civilian sale?

As expected, the finish on the pre-war gun is much nicer, especially the sights. The unmodified gun has a slight amount of play between the barrel and frame while the hammerless is solid.

Both barrels are marked similarly with the caliber, broad arrow and two-digit year of manufacture. The MkI** has a very faint '44'.

Here's a shot of the family.

Webleys made a small fuss over the enfield design, its nothing more than a scaled down MkV1.
