The regulars know by now I don't pay much attention to accoutrements. Doesn't mean I don't pack rat them away...just don't keep track of what came with what. I could use some help.

Some of it I know and some not...as you will see by the picture discriptions.

Sir, the bottom two pouches look like the ones I received when I bought my YUGO M48 egyptian 8mm rifle.Almost the same size, shape and the liter of the two could be a sister to the one i have. The russian ones you got those down correctly. The small bluish one arrears to be for pistol or revolver ammo. As far as the others are concerned they remain a mystery to me. Frank

That is a good thought on the M48. But I only have one of those. I do have a Yugo 24/47 and a few VZ24's. Might all be the same family.

Your mystery pouch is for a moisin-nagant rifle. Mine has a Russian city name stamped into the leather on the back.

Thanks

Why would it look different fromt the other Nagant pouches? Maybe an earlier model?

NINER,

That's what I was thinking. Let me do a little more research & get back to you.

NINER,

Try this website for all your mosin-nagant questions.

Scrolldown to "Mosin-Nagant Rifle Accessories" , and then click on "Ammo Pouches" on the right side of the screen.

It says it's Romanian post war. The one I have is definitely Russian though and so marked. Several soviet countries must have used the same pattern.

Sure looks like it. Only mine has no markings stamped on it any place I can notice. His has "Herbak Janos" stamped in plain sight.

About the second or third time I looked over this collection of ammo pouches another country came to mind. I was in a gunshop in New York. They had a pile of these things at dirt cheap prices. The brown one would hold 3 5rd stripper clips of 7.65x53mm argentine rifle ammunition. Yours looks to be the twin of the one I have. So you may have another possible identification on your hands.
