Went for a ride in the only flying B-24 Liberator. The Collings Foundation has a B-24, a B-17, and a B-25 that tour the country and you can buy a ride in any one of them. I chose the B-24 since it is the last one flying, according to them.

Have some pics and videos that I will post later. It was a great time.

Vern.

WHO'S A HAPPY NINE DELTA THEN!

What's all that gray on the back of it? Wouldn't be a lot of duck tape to hold the tail on would it?

Looking forward to some more photos.

Nice one Vern, looking forward to the movie. :D

I think the writing on the fuselage are the names of people who contributed to the restoration or perhaps operating costs of the aircraft.

Joe is correct about all the writing on the side. The gray area at the rear isn't duct tape, it's just small white writing.

I know that soon someone will point out the Confederate Air Force has a B-24 that flies. Actually that plane was never a B-24, it was built for the British as an LB-30, but was damaged before it left the states and was rebuilt by Consolidated as a transport for company use. It has no turrets or bomb bay doors and the floor is built solid for cargo.

Am still working on pics and vids.
