I contributed and my book arrived yesterday and I'm up to 1973 already. I have decided to contribute pictures and stories for volume 2 also. I hope any here with an interest in how to fight a COIN war has a read of this. I bought two copies and the second is for my ex coy clerk now disabled from his service.

Saw your blog in your profile. Looked at the utube Vietnam Aussie thing. Wondered what the connection was with yourself. Australians not likely to ever had any part to play in Northern Ireland which is some place you obviously have been with the British military.

I'm sure your experience in Northern Ireland had to have been a lot like the terrorist stuff going on in Iraq today.

The Aussie thing was for ANZAC day, we like to ensure that our allies are not forgotten, I try and make a point of remembering those who were lost in battle wherever it may be. Although Gallipolli was the awakening of the ANZACs as a fighting force to be reckoned with in spite of previous efforts in wars it really was a point where the two nations awoke to the efforts of their fighting men.

Sadly I have to record that despite the sacrices made by our gallant allies (and it wasnt all down to bad British Generalship!) the casualty lists show that everyone involved paid a high butchers bill.

The blog is obviously about what I get up to sporting and non sporting but I always commemorate those of my regiment killed in action or just plain murdered by terrorists.
