Machine Gun Shoot June 2008

My son and I made our 4th annual trip to the machine gun shoot over in Southern Ohio. Just a pic of our setup. We managed to run through about 10k rounds of ammo.

Must be an expensive shoot for you and your son. 10k rounds of ammo is a lot of ammo even though with machine guns it wouldn't take all that much time to shoot up. Or..... the whole shoot was 10 thousand rounds of ammo?
Tell us some more about it.

Niner, the 10k rounds was just us. About the only time anymore that we take them all out to shoot. Not pictured was my Lewis, Type 99 LMG and the MG81. I stockpiled 10s of thousands of rounds when 8mm and 7.62x54R were 6-12 cents per round.
Just for information we were shooting the Vickers and 08 Maxim in 7.62 Russian and the 08/15 in 8mm.

Ok, that's not so bad...average about $900? Kinda like that mastercard commercial... the experience was "priceless" I guess.
Well if you have the machine gun...you got to shoot it! Makes sense.
