A TASTE FOR THE COUNTRY........

It struck me that as I actually LIVE in France some of you may be interested in a series of photographs that I have taken over the years that we have lived here. We left England on the 1st June 2002 and moved into our present house here in the Gironde on the 1st October 2002.

These images are not of French weapons but of France itself. I shall post images regularly and will be happy to answer any questions that you may have about them.

The first is from the vines on the other side of the fence to our garden.

It has a feeling of the Somme about it with the wire and the vine looking almost like a picket itself.

The second is actually taken in the garden where we are starting to seed a bare patch of ground.

A thoughtful start me thinks

Taken last month on one of the 'Steam' days. They run every Sunday over a 17km track to raise money for restoration work.

Problem is that they are struggling with more to restore than they can hope to cope with so some pieces just sit on sidings and decay..

I shoot better with a camera than I do with a rifle!!

I think 2 a week is enough not to flood the site! I will keep them coming.

Just this one today.

A reminder of the terrible price some French paid during the occupation.

These two were Guillotined in public in Nimes on the order of the Vichy Government who were in the service of the Nazis. They were only 21!
