Thanks Joe!

Well when I got her she wasn’t doing well, she’d been greased and stored from some time in the 40s,

All we knew was she was manufactured by B.S.A and sent to India. She was issued to British troops and then Indian for a period of time. I was then informed that it was manufactured in 1912/1914, because it has a small cone high velocity barrel. All parts are numbered and match.

Unfortunately on mine the Indians when they were issued them, they ground off the British markings on the right and replaced them with there own on the left side So the rifle has both British and Ishapor stamps.

She looks to be like a convert from the mk3 to the mk3٭ For it still has its stacking swivel and slot for the magazine cut off. She shoots well and only needs cosmetic work really she’s a little battered but has had an active live. So I’m not going to do much to the wood work only clean it and polish it. I’m going to leave the scratches, dings and bumps, as it adds to the character and her history. For my first project I really enjoyed it and am just waiting for the next one to come along!

I can see the groove but not if the slot was there, I have one similar a 1917 BSA.
