Argie M91 long rifle mag problem?

We took my Argie M91 to the indoor range, and it fired high at 25 yards. After about 15 rounds, the mag follower stuck on the back end. I couldn't load any more rounds in the mag. The front part of the follower was free and it acted like a diving board.
I unscrewed the floor, and the follower fell out as usual, but when I tried to attach the screw into the floor, it just bent the floor away from the screw. The screw would not enter the hole in the floor, and that maybe causing the the follower to bind?
Any ideas?
