Milsurp After Hours

I recently bought a Commanche 22 cal, 9 shot revolver for $50. I believe it was unfired except for the govt mandated test fire (spent case was in a little envelope in the box). It was manufactured in Argentina. It has adjustable rear sight and rubber grips that remind me of Pacmyers. Took it to the range and it functions very well and groups pretty good at 15 yds, under 3". Fit and finish is not the greatest but what the heck I paid $50. The only downfall is with my old eyes the front sight is hard to see at the indoor range. Will need to paint it yellow or white.

Looks OK to me for $50 - pity I can't buy a few here!

Mine is a "Regent". Shoots fine but had to replace a spring in it. Your find looks a lot better.

Looks sort of like this one! You got a better deal on yours.

We haven't fired it yet but it functions well and the lockup seems tight.

I have to agree with you on the sights but I bought it for my 15 year old son and his eyes are way better than mine.

I also wanted something to load with CCI shot shells to deal with the occasional musical tailed visitor that we get out back.

mine loves CCI's and Federal but hates Remington.

Has anyone noticed that Federal 22 ammo is some nasty dirty shooting ammo? I can't remember it being so dirty..

Finally had a go at the 11 yard plates this morning in the 45 degree drizzle. After 5 or 6 rounds to get the sights set we were hitting steel plates at will, even shooting double action.

The only complaint I have with it is that the radius of the trigger seems to be a bit tight and the tip was gouging my finger especially when shooting double action.

All told we enjoyed shooting it a lot.

This makes 3 .22 handguns.

Sorry about reserecting this thread and then totally hijacking biganimal's post but I just couldn't pass up another opportunity to show off the vid of my grandson shooting my Commanche revolver for the first time. As you can see, it took him about a half a second to figure out how to cock it for the nest shot.

He really surprised me, he didn't care for the Ruger MkI, the S&W 22A, or his mothers Remington 597 Mossy Oak semi. He spent the entire morning shooting my Dad's 1940's vintage Winchester 67 single shot, manual cock rifle and the Commanche revolver using the 2 hand sincle action cocking method.
