When the 'K' guns became obsolete/redundant in WW II, Col. David Sterling scrounged some from the RAF and gave them a new lease of life as vehicle mounted guns. See 'The Phantom Major' by Virginia Cowles, William Collins, Sons & Company Ltd.

Vicker's K guns which had become redundant in the RAF were scrounged by David Sterling for his SAS and were given a new lease of life as vehicle mounted weapons. See 'The Phantom Major' by Virginia Cowles, William Collins, Sons & Company Limited. (abt 1957/8)
