Spliced Forend On K31

Here's the newest K31 that I got from Allan's Armory this week. It has the Finn type splice with a lighter piece of wood to the forend. I think this is my most interesting K31 now.

It's a 1944 with an electropenciled bolt sleeve.

That is unique! I've thought for some time that the Swiss and the Finns were the best at filling knots and slicing pieces. It adds character that a perfect piece of wood does not have.

That is definitely something different:) Splices are rather common, but the placement of that one is pretty interesting.

We'll to tell you the truth, I havn't got around to shooting this one yet. That's something to put on my list though. Been shooting a couple of my others though. :mrgreen:

Sorry about the snipe, That is a real nice rifle Lolo, Very good looking. I have only seen these in the 43 year, but there are probably others.
