Milsurp After Hours

Noticed that AIM has some Finn 28/76 military target rifles for sale. These were made from assorted parts in Finland for the military with special new stocks, and peep sights, and were fine tuned and barreled for training and target shooting contests. The Finn army still uses pretty much the same thing with scopes as sniper rifles... maybe.

There were a few hundred imported into the country late last year and were going for about a hundred less than some that AIM is offering now. The original batch could be bought with a C&R although AIM doesn't show that. The last configurations of this rifle were made less than 40 years ago althought the receivers are old hex Russian Nagant in origin.

I got a feeling these would be interesting at about $500 but way over priced as they are offered. Tuco's site has a one page history related to these rifles at his site. Any opinion?

But I agree with you, that is a lot of money. To much for just a shooter. You can buy a Rock River Arms national match rifle for less.

If you are a serious Finnish rifle collector it is most likely a must have but for match shooting I will take stay with my #4 and PH sight.

I have handled one & shot one.

They are very nice rifles & great shooters, but are not without flaw.

I am not about to part with that amount of money for these rifles.

As long as we hold on to our wallets, watch the price drop on these rifles.

While they are indeed outstanding rifles, I prefer the original military issue 28/30 rifle of the Images.

But, thats just me.

How much for just the rear sight? That's the only thing about it that makes it special that I can't do, or have done, to any other MN in my gun safes. The AT plastic stocks are not all that great. but if you glass bed a steel recoil block and pillar bed the action they work just fine. Of course you have to make your own pillars and recoil block.
