Here is a 1923 Tula that saw service in the Spanish Civil War of the late 1930's.

Spanish armorers restocked this one in what appears to be walnut, but could be elm.

I acquired this one & many others from an estate in New Orleans, Louisiana as an incomplete parts rifle.

Over the past two months, I have acquired the required parts to restore this rifle to a refurbished issue state.

The barrel bands were sent to me from Jari Lemmetyine from his parts stash in the great country of Finland.

Finding rear sights & barrel bands were easy compared to finding ten M91 handguards in two months time.

Other than shooting this one in my backyard to clean the rust from the bore, I have not shot this one to see how it prints on paper.

That's not one you see posted about every day

Thanks for showing it.

I went looking for information about Spanish Civil War weapons. They used everything you can think of existing at the time , nearly.

That's the third time I've seen that mark---here's my '24 Tula.

Also saw it on another M91 which was too far gone to interest me, but did also seem to be from the SCW.

Has this mark been identified?

Sorry, but I've been away from the Mo-scene recently.
