I have not owned a shotgun for probably 25 years and haven't shot skeet or trap since I got out of the Air Force back in '75.

Well we have out scout shooting trip coming up this weekend and besides I have really wanted to give sporting clays a go now for some time.

I was at the WalMart in Villa Rica yesterday to pickup a new phone for the house and after I picked out my phone I wandered into the sporting goods section and what should catch my eye there but a Mossberg 500 12ga with a 28" ported barrel and a set of 3 choke tubes all US made for $207. Well needless to say I spent no less than 10 seconds trying to talk myself out of buying it to no avail.

I think we all have had that kind of will power problem

There is a Remington pump in the closet that I bought the same way. Only fired it once and have bought an extra choke for clays.

Had a go at a few clays this past weekend. Missed the first 6 before I realized that I wasn't even looking at the double bead sights.

The next 6 went a bit better. That's all I had time for and had to head back to our rifle range for the next batch of shooters.

Bob was busting them pretty regular with it.

Definately a nice gun for the money.
