Took my Lyman Plains Rifle with me today. Lovely day to be out and shooting.
I think I like BP front stuffers best for the simple enjoyment of shooting. No heavy kick, lots of smoke, and the slow process of loading each round has more satisfaction in it than cycling a bolt. And....having made the gun from a kit makes it that much better seeing it function and hit the target dead center every once in a while.

Looks the business Robert!
I just loaded 48 tubes of 3F ready for the next fine day so i can shoot my Rem 1858. Its been so wet recently on range days it has not been worth taking it.

Blackpowder has its charms, just remember to clean the firearm thoroughly. I enjoy it mostly for the "Time Travel"
effect. Most of my BP shooting these days is in historical reeanactments, firing blanks.

Cleanup is pretty easy. Just a bucket of hot soapy water. The hardest part is taking the wood off and not losing any of the the small screws that may be involved. I have a Kentucky rifle with small screws that hold the rings that retain the ramrod. Always have to be careful taking them out and seeing they don't get misplaced.
