Chat times and the Sunday Chat

There is one "official" chat time set at the moment. It is every Sunday at a time that is afternoon in the US and evening in Europe. That time was set due to the international group we have here. Only problem is that although it is fine for Europe and the US at the same time, it leaves out Australia and anybody else on that side of the world.

However, until something else is done, the "official" Milsurp After Hours chat is still at 2 pm Central Standard Time..or Central Daylight Savings Time...which is the same as 8pm GMT or the equal daylight savings time in Europe.

All you have to do is hit the button at the top of the page to use the chat room. No special login needed. You do have to have Java on your computer. You can get it as a free download online. Do a Google search for where to download it.

Any information response that arises from the chat can be posted here as a continued discussion or reply.

A good talk last night Robert! Is there any way that you could show if someone was in the Chatroom? That way we might be able to talk to others in the bottom half of the world as it would be a case of seeing who was on line . I know, always something else isn't there

You could always pm them if you see them online and suggest a chat. Maybe someone could suggest a time and day in advance of a meeting and try it that way.
Even if there were a way of showing someone in the chat room on the board, it wouldn't necessarily mean, of itself, that anyone would actually notice, or if they did, that they would join. However, I'll take it under advisement.

I was on another forum recently and was PM'd about a chat by someone I had not noticed was on line at the time. I do think that if you cold have some kind of indicator on the board header it might increase the chances of chat between sat Australia and UK or something like that. It would only need a flashing or lit up bulb or something. People might log in to the chat room when they come on line and stay logged in till the leave...........Just the musings of an idiot ;) ;)

If you look at the bottom of the menu page you will see who is online and you can PM them about a chat. I've seen the Yuku thing that shows who is in the chat room in the forum list. However, I've hardly ever noticed anybody in any of the chat rooms.

Team speak does every thing you have mentioned.
Team speak shows as a menu at the side of the page were the forum headings are it lists every bodies name that is a member.
What you do is log onto team speak then log into the forum while you are logged on a green light indicates next to your name to indicate you are on line.
You can talk freely to any individual or the whole group while browsing or posting in the forum when you have finished you just log out.
Team speak is free as far as I am aware. As I have said before team speak is used all over the world by gamers I use it every day I can ask the Gurus on the site were I frequent for more info if you think it may be of interest.
Just to show you what I mean if you click on this link then scroll down usually on the right hand side of the screen you will see the Team speak menu with names and a green light if any of them are on line talking to each other.
Dont hang around though these guys are all snipers and they are keen to find fresh meat.

Might be worth a look. If we try it and don't like it we can always revert  to Skyp

Great Day, All! :D

I am enjoying the cold air & the aroma of old gunpowder beneath blue skies in Ohio today.

I am unable to join you all on the chat today, but will be back home for the chat NEXT Sunday.
I will be visiting some obscure, out-of-the-way gunshops/pawnshops in Niners home state of Alabama on Monday.
Wish me luck!

Cheers!

Looks like you are having a good time and good weather for shooting. Any shops near Mobile that you plan to visit?

No, not around Mobile.
We visited a pawn shop in Boaz, Alabama.
Lots of M91's for sale.
