Hi All, Participated in my first real match last Saturday. :)

It was at the Austin Shooting Club in Austin, TX and I entered the 200 yd. improved sight catagory. I took the (T)less and borrowed the L1A1 from the L42 as I hadn't the chance to collimate the No.32 correctly.

I came in fourth overall, second in the C&R class...rookie mistake by not noticing the contrasting color of the match targets was a larger size than my 100 yd. targets I took for practice. Group size was about 5", but there was a shifting wind and that group was as good as anyone's

Here's an overall of ASC:

Some interesting rifles:

Regards, Brad :TX:

<edit> Well, untill I get the picture thing correct, please copy/paste the link for your browser. I found my mistake! Sorry all.

How many firing points on that range?

Have a look at your post in edit and you'll see what I did to get your pictures through.

Congratulations, Brad!

I dream of coming 4th in a match. (14th would be good.) It sounds like a fun day out. Nice pictures too - thanks for sharing them with us.

Adam, I see the difference between the two image deliniaters, but for some reason the 'close image' kept ending up behind the Texas flag when I edited before...using the alt+p. Thanks so much for ONCE AGAIN fixing my pictures! :D

Brian, There was a low turnout due to the temperature (95F) which helped my standing considerably!

Take Care, Brad :TX:

PS, There will be some pictures on a website and as soon as they are posted I'll put up the link

No problems Brad,

thats why us administrators get our huge salaries from Niner to do stuff like that.

I wouldn't put the turnout down to the temperature.

In the spirit of true gamesmanship you never miss an opportunity, the obvious reason that the turn out was not as high as might be expected was because of the word getting out that you were competeing, it just scared them all away. :D

Brad

How did you find out about the event in Austin ? I live on the west side of Houston and might have been able to come up if I had known about it.

Adam, You crack me up! :D :D :D I showed my son the difference between my practice target and the one I used in the match...he laughed his arse off that I didn't notice the difference!

Rich, It came by e-mail...can't tell you who sent it though, several names on the header and a few days later the computer crashed due to a power failure and I lost all of my saved e-mail. Perhaps we can go out to the range together...e-mail me.

Take Care, Brad

Brad,

that picture of you about to touch off the No4T is a study in concentration, you couldn't have shit then even if you'd had dysentry.
