Some month' back during my visit in Finland I was invited to the house of a retired LtCol. of the finnish Army.
This nice gentleman offerd me to buy one of the pistols, he boutght back around 1967 when in cadet school.
I selected this "Ruby" m/19 because it was all matching and has a nice barrel and it came with a Nagant M1895 holster with [SA] stamp.

Some days ago the Ruby arrived here and I did a quick checkup.
Needs to be cleaned, but all in all it is in good shape.
Than I looked at the holster and found a piece of paper deep down in it.
I unfolded it and found some pencil writing on it:

To my gread luck a nice gentleman from Finland was visiting me for BBQ and to have a look at my small collection.
To make it even better, he also was an Artillery Officer, serving together with the former owner of this pistol.
He gave me a rough translation and pointed out, that those notes were from WW2 time.
I was stunned!!!!
Then I got an translation from the former owner, whom I sent the scan:
t-ann/tulivalm (ylitys)
required supply rate of ammunition/ fire preparation (crossing)
- this crossing must be across a
river or a waterway - 1 required
supply rate of ammunition for a 122mm
piece is 60 rounds/piece
jopon käyttö, kun 1 tykr
the use of the echelon of leadership, when 1 artillery group is available
- an artillery group comprises of 2-4
artillery battalions for
concentrating and distributing fires
- the echelon of leadership has an
artillery group under its command.
The echelon is in charge of all
activities (the firing activities,
the signals, the replenishment of
ammo, changing of the gun
emplcements, etc.) of the artillery
group in question
tukom:t tykpäällikölle ??
calls for fire to be sent to the Brigade FSO (Fire Support Officer) ?? who
will then relay the commands for fire to individual artillery battalions.
tukom:t Jopo r-ups:n kntokanavalla ?
Calls for fire to the echelon of leadership to be sent on the command
frequency? (I.e. not on the freqency for transmitting calls for fire to
keep secret from the enemy.)
