1905 carbine.

The M93 cavalry carbine was based on a Mannlicher design with some Swiss modifications. At first these carbines were build by SIG Neuhausen (till serial 4250), all later manufactured M93's were build by W+F Bern (last one was # 7750).
The complexity of the bolt was ones of the reasons to have it replaced by a carbine with the more common 1896 action and this was the carbine 05, almost all 7900 carbines of that type were later converted into K05/11 carbines.

Short answer, the M93 was chambered for the lower powered 7.5X53.5 or better known as the GP90 round. This was the same round as the M89 was chambered for and was loaded first with a paper patched lead bullet with a steel cap. I use the GP11 or 7.5X55 cases trimmed back and cast bullet loads for use in my M93 and other pre 1911's.

Here's a couple of pictures of the carbine that I have. It has been refinished somewhere down the line but I wasn't going to turn down purchasing it over that. It shoots very well with the cast loads and is a lot of fun to take along .
