I just picked up a Polish Mauser in 7x57, tapered barrel, jeweled bolt, double set triggers, scope bases and no stock. I know nothing about the quality of Polish Mausers and would like some feed back if possible. I got the 7x57 because I am tired of burning up all my powder using my Weatherby and Remington 7mils. Gosh those cases are hogs for powder. I do not know if Warszawa is ex-military or was always civilian in use. The barreled action is currently on its way and not in my hands, so direct questions relative to the markings on the piece will have to wait. Thanks!

Welcome Schoe, hope you stay and participate - new blood is always welcome.

If you can post photographs with your question(s) it always helps and creates interest in those of us who don't know the answers :)

Welcome Schoe!
You should take comfort in knowing that Polish firearms are of very high quality & are much sought after because of this.

The 7x57 is a fine, balanced, accurate calibre too. At one time it used to be de rigeur calibre for the Reds in the Highlands especially in gollach land (Caithness).
