OK, here is your starter for 10!
Yesterday I took a couple of mates up to a place called AUXERRE ( 1220kms round trip in the day) to buy a gun. Why, well its a long story but basically the dealer in Auxerre was going to send it to a dealer in Bordeaux so my mate Cyril could collect it there. It was to be shipped in 2 packages. The dealer in Bordeaux said last week he had received one of the packages and was waiting for the second. On Monday the guy in Auxerre contacted my mate and said unless he got the money from the Bordeaux gunshop he would sell the item to someone there who wanted it.
On checking it was discovered that the shop in Bordeaux had not received any package (obvious) and in fact said his payment had been lost in the post.
Plan B then was the 3 of us drive up yesterday ( Cyril having had a cornea transplant recently is unable to drive ) and pay for the beast and bring it back.

Oh, sorry, The BEAST is a S&W 500 .50 caliber s/s revolver. It will be shot for the first time on Monday and I will post more pics then but here is a taster for you

Glad to see the both of you having fun, & no reported injuries.
The heavy weight frame of the revolver absorbs much of the recoil.
Were target loads or hunting loads fired?
The target loads kick harder & belch a wall of flame.

No, factory loads, cases and bullets all readily available. 20 rounds on Magtech are about 21€ /$29.50. There are 2 at our Souge club :D
