New member here. Thought I would check in.
Have been collecting milsurps for a few years now. Started with Swiss, because they were available cheap at the local sporting goods store and got hooked. Now I have Swedish, German, South American , Czech and Yugo Mausers, Finn and Russian Mosins, SMLE's and P-14's, various US semi and bolts, Arisaka's, etc, etc.
Basically, I love 'em all now.
My main activity with them is to shoot them in "military surplus sillhouette" matches at a local range, with my sons. The matches are 40 round matches, fired in 10 round strings at chicken silhouettes @ 200 meters, pigs @ 300, turkeys @ 385 and rams @ 500 meters. The rifles have to be "as issued", with standard stocks, triggers, barrels and sights. Great fun.
