Mak vs Tok C&R- legal in PRK

I'm researching pistols to buy, and in the C&R line I'm looking for a Mak or a Tok 7.62X25. Ca has a limit on mag capacity of 10 rounds or less.
In the new categories I'm interested are ($500+) the Glock 22 or compact Glock 23 (40 cal), a Sig-pro polymer 2340 (40 cal or 357) or Sig P239 steel in 40.cal.
I'm fired a 357 revolver, Glock 22 (full size 40 cal) and a Sig P239 compact 40 cal.

I need more practice firing pistols, so I thought a less expensive C&R that I can afford to shoot than a Glock or Sig maybe my best option.

Thanx in advance for the advice;

I've got a couple of Mak's and I also have a T33. I like either of the MAK's better than the T33. The T33 I have has a really light trigger, which I'm not too in love with. Maybe that has something to do with it. I like the way the Mak's feel in the hand better too.

If you can find a Tokarev (Polish, Russian, Chinese, Yugoslavian) that shoots the 7.62x25 bottlenecked round(Romanian or Yugoslavian)(Steer clear of Bulgarian surplus or steel cased Czech), these are GREAT pistols to shoot.
Mine feel as compact & natural as a Browning High Power, & the bottlenecked 7.62 round is very powerful & feeds very well.
You can still find unopened tins of 7.62x25 for decent prices.
The Makarov is a low powered blowback pistol that shoots a 9x18 round slightly larger than & of similar power as the .380.
While the Makarov round can be found without too much trouble, it is not as cheap as the Tokarev ammo.
The Polish P64 is of the highest quality but is not meant for large hands. The Czech CZ82 has a 12 round capacity & polygonal rifling.
The FEG PA63 is almost a direct copy of the Walther PP with an alloy frame.
The single stack Tokarev pistols have an eight or nine round magazine capacity, while the single stack Makarovs have a seven or eight round magazine capacity. Only the double stack CZ82 magazine exceeds ten rounds.
I have a Polish, Chinese & a Russian Tokarev, along with a CZ52 that shoots the 7.62x25 round.
I also have a CZ82 & a PA63 that shoot the 9x18 round.
I sold my Polish P64, & I should sell my CZ52 because these do not fit my hand as well as the others.
Best of luck in your quest! :CA:

Thanx for the info... The 40 cal is the best all-around pistol round, so I've decided on a S&W SW99, 4" berrel, 40 cal @ $379 used. Although I shot a Glock 23 40 cal today, as well as a Walther P99 in 40cal. I really liked the P99, and S&W collaborated with Walther to produce the SW99 and used the Walther frame. I also shot the Glock 23 compact (4" barrel @ $520 new). I liked the Glock, but it hurt my right hand because the grip ended squarely where my hand got messed up in Nam. Last week I shot the Glock 22 (4.5" barrel @$ 520 new), and it was felt good in my hand. The barrel was too long, and I had trouble controlling the long muzzle. That day I tried the Sig P228 40 cal compact alloy pistol, and the Sig's extra weight helped my control, and I liked the 4" barrel.

I liked the Sig & Walther's the best, and so I decided to buy the Sig P225 9MM- alloy from J&G for $349. Today at the range, I realized I need much more practice, so an inexpensive 7.62X25 C&R with ready to find ammo maybe my best bet until I upgrade to the pistol I want??? Does the surplus ammo have a steel core, jacket or case? Steel is prohibited at my indoor range.

I am OK with the 10 round limit on Mags, as that is plenty for me. So many pistols, so little cash! As Yogi Berra says, Cash is a good as money!
