I had posted this before here. I got this one for free with my 1MKIII granade launcher rifle from Springfield Sporters in May of 2000. Rifle and grande cup...$75. Now the granade cup is up over $100. Better appreciation than some airline stock I inherited.

How does the rifle shoot Robert? Without the cup obviously. ;)

Not much of a shooter. But my eyesight isn't that good either. The blade and notch thing isn't as good as the better No.4 and No. 5 sights. I only shot this rifle one time. It's pretty much confined to the collection space now.

It has been written that the granade launching rifles were made from the nearly worn out ones. Wonder if there is any truth to this? The bore on this one looks pretty good. The headspace checks out.

Niner,
...It has been written that the granade launching rifles were made from the nearly worn out ones. Wonder if there is any truth to this?...
This was true in the Great War period, in the days of the 'Hales' and other 'rodded' grenades, but, with the introduction of the removable cup discharger it was noted that, when all the grenades were expended, using standard quality rifles meant that the section had an effective extra rifleman rather than a 'passenger'.

A visit to the Royal Armouries is highly recommended. I'd always imagined grenade launching rifles were a modern item but this apparently is not the case.

And the first one gives dangerous at both ends a new meaning doesn't it ?
