Colt Army Special .38 special,from 1926

Hope this one goes here...

You all may want to smack me for this,and I dunno why I was attracted to this one but it got to the point I had to have it,Colt Army Special .38 special,six inch tube,traded for it and two hundred rounds of ammo AND got $200 in my pocket,got the price on the gun to $375.



I guess it reminds me of something Indiana Jones might carry and since I got a .357 I've been staring at this old gun as .38 special is a hell of a lot of fun.

i like that one , what did you have to trade off ? this is one i would be proud to own ,

my representative 38s are a victory in 38slcl , a previctory in 38s&w , and an M1903 in 38lc , i suspect i wont buy another but that one would tempt me

Traded off a Walther PK380 (taking that thing down gave me an aneurysm) and a first gen Glock 17.

I felt my P11 and two Walther P1's made up nicely for my 9MM's and the Micro Desert Eagle for the .380,so I snagged the Colt.

I just always have had a thing for old guns,tried the whole assault rifle thing and came right back to mil surps.
My S&W 629-1 and 686-3 made me like revolvers again so the Colt has been eating at me,I am very proud of having it and it's going to ride along in the woods and not just sit in a case.

I took the old Colt out to shoot this morning,upon a good scrubbing last night before bed I found some slight pitting in the barrel-meh won't mean squat is my thought and I was right,fired mostly 158gr Blazer,but also tried some Privi 158gr both LRN and all but one cylinder fired single action produced this:



Yes,it shoots!

Those are fantastic old revolvers!
I have access to one & several Police Positives.
They are quite accurate.
I remember striking a 12 inch round gong from 100yds away four of six rounds on a regular basis shooting offhand with a Colt revolver.
These are very well made revolvers.
I prefer the Colt to the Korth.
Yes, I briefly had a Korth 38 Special.

i think you did very well , i have a few [various] 38s , ive not had that good of results , but at my age im lucky to have results

and since this thread has stalled ill add that one must be diverse -
