The escaped elephant

Well, there was the time that an elephant escaped from a traveling circus in the South. He disappeared in the woods and, even though they searched for him, they couldn't find him. The circus moved on.
So did the elephant. Years later he showed up in an old woman's garden, eating her vegetables. The old woman's eyesight wasn't all that good.
She called the police. She told the officer on the phone, "There's a big grey funny-looking creature in my garden, and he's pulling up my cabbages with his tail".
The officer asked, "He's pulling up your cabbages with his tail? What does he do with them then?
"Sonny, if I told you, you wouldn't believe it".
Guy told that at another forum I go to,I choked reading it!
