I recently picked up a really nice Springfield model 840 30/30 rifle
It is the very same thing as a Savage model 340

Interesting rifle. Was it designed specifically for the 30.30 or did they come in other chamberings?

Is it a single or double stack magazine?

It is a single stack magazine and they were chambered in 30/30, 225 Winchester, 222 Remington, and 22 Hornet
