Milsurp After Hours

I recently got this at an estate sale. It was described as a "Romania Rifle".

It has what appears to be a somewhat heavier and longer barrel then the usual M69 Romanian trainers that I've seen. It also has sights that appear to be finely adjustable for both windage and elevation. Also, this one is dated 1957, well before the M69's were made.

Anyone know anything about these "Romania Rifles"?

The Cugir arrived today and is in pristine shape. the wood is unmarked for the most part, The metal is in great shape, although it is mottled in appearance. There is no pitting, just a mottling of the finish in places. The bore is as good as any new .22 that I've seen.
