It looks like a good day was had by all. I am going to Srensall range tomorrow. The forecast is cloud with intermittant showers. I hope the showers miss me when I am shooting. I am taking my 1942 dispersal SMLE.

Brass Rat, the staight pull AR is the only one allowed in the UK, semi autos regarded as far too dangerous for the private citizen to possess here.

Regards

Peter.

I never knew that the strait pulls existed until I saw one in a magazine that Adam sent me.

Joe, I didn't get soaked. It was very cold and damp, but not much rain apart from a few drops. I shot first but when we changed over and went in the butts, the mist started to come down. It was marginal seeing at 500 yards and some packed up and didn't shoot 600 yards because they couldn't see the targets clear enough to shoot. I didn't shoot too well today as it was very cold lying on frozen ground and it was not very good visibility at the best of times. Thats my excuse anyway. I got 60 rounds through my SMLE anyway.

Regards

Peter.

A very interesting post.

Those black rifles are definately sinister, I noted that one well known marksman is sinister also :) .

Re straight pulls that look just like semi-autos, down here in the deep antipodes we'uns aren't allowed to have 'look-alikes' like that because they look like military automatic rifles  .

Looks like I'll only ever be able to look at pictures of what I like. Lifes like that, like  .
