Well! The first attempt at a photo contest could have been better supported but for various reasons the interest wasn't there.
So, if at first you don't succeed, have another go.

Here is one to start it off. It was taken at a reenactment at Ft. Morgan about ten years ago. Ft. Morgan was the larger of two forts guarding the entrance to Mobile Bay during the Civil War. Notice those granite steps were a 14 or 15 inch drop from one to another. I saw these women taking their time moving on this flight of steps, all hands on the one rail. Then I noticed the small child at the top.

Some guys will neglect to pay attention to uniform of the day orders in every outfit. Never fails. Or....maybe a couple guys from a Zouave unit got a transfer to an ordinary unit. Or......maybe the Zouave unit was so shot up that the replacements didn't have time to send home for some tailor made red costumes. Whatever. These guys seem to be having fun.

Reenactment at Ft. Morgan about the same year as the previous photo.

1813 and the indians won one. Ft. Mims on the frontier in Alabama. Upwards of 250 settlers were killed when the indians attacked. This play acting photo was taken on the actual ground where the real thing had taken place nearly two hundred years before.

A rather husky indian.....with what looks to be an un-indian like mustache and something green and fuzzy looking on the top of his head....... is about to part some soldier's hair. Notice the Ft. Mims sign on the right.....on the inside of the fort...just to remind people where they were I guess.
