I finally got round to taking some half decent snaps of my Italian job yesterday.
Its a M91/28 Truppe Speciali in 6.5X52 manufactured at the Gardone Arsenal. There are no date stamps on the barrel unfortunately.

The quadrant rear sight

Set to an optimistic 1500m

The Gardone butt cartouche

Some comparison shots with Adams Terni Arsenal M91/38 Fucile Corto also in 6.5, the first obvious difference being the length.

A fixed battle sight on the 91/38

Forend and bayonet bar differences, the 91/38 has a butt trap for the cleaning rod.

Brass and steel clips

Forgot to post a close up of the neat wrist repair on my rifle
