Mrs Potato had three daughters. They lived happily together for many years. Eventually, Mrs Potato thought it was time her daughters went out into the world and found a husband. So, she called her daughters together. She said “My little taters, I think you should go away and find a husband. Come back in six months and tell me how you got on”.
So, off the little taters went. After six months had gone by they all came back.
So she asked the first daughter how she got on. Well, she said, I am going to marry a Jersey Royal. Oh, he is an aristocratic tater, said Mrs Potato, well done.
So she asked the second daughter how she got on. Well, she said, I am going to marry a King Edward. Oh, he is a Royal tater, said Mrs Potato, well done.
So she asked the third daughter how she got on. Well, she said, I am going to marry a Desmond Lyneham. Oh, said Mrs Potato, a Desmond Lyneham, he is a common tater.
