Hello!

A friend got a like new No9Mk1, everything looks to be brand new, not a slingle mark everywhere!!!!

All stamps are corect, PARKERIFLED stamped muzzle etc.

The gun does not shoot very well, he tryed any ammo he had. Some days back he had got a No8Mk1 too, this one shoots extremly good, as does my No8 and my No7.

What could be wrong???? Is the lined barrel to blame???

Something odd about the rifle, it is made from a Mk2 action!!!!!

Parkerrifled barrels are usually pretty accurate, I'd check the for barrel wear especially at the muzzel.

Any chance of a picture Chris?

A friend also has a no.9 and...

it is extremely accurate, no problems at all. If not shooter-related, check the usual suspects: crown damage, headspace, loose sights,...

Sory, no pic, forgot to take some, while I visited my friend. He lives 500km away.

If you have ever seen a absolutely NEW No9Mk1 right from the factory, you knoe his rilfe.

I inspected ist, no loose sights, barrel bright an shiney, noe sign of wear.

Only thing was a stiff trigger, wich I fixed.

Waht kind of ammo do normal y the No9 rifles prefer?

My No8 and No7 eat nearly everything, the Schönebeck Standard Plus shoots best for now, 15mm at 50m and under 40mm at 100m.

Update:

My friend was on teh range again and noticed some blowback of gas and black casings.

The chamber is possibly oversized.

Are there No9 Fakes out there?????

I can not believe that a PARKERIFLED barrel would ever pass quality check with such a chamber!!!
