Great News for Aging Eyes!

Greetings everyone!

Like so many of you out there, my eyes aren't what they used to be. So at 55 those open sights are looking fuzzier and fuzzier as time goes by. But even though my accuracy might be suffering with age, I still like to shoot my old Enfield, Mosin/Nagant , or Mauser the way they were issued.

So when I went to the eye doc recently and asked him what might help, I was disappointed when he didn't have any useful suggestions. Fortunately I found an article that mentioned Clear 2 Target sighting discs. I knew about stick on diopters in the past, but I never could justify the cost, especially when I wasn't sure they would do the trick. Then comes along Clear 2 Target discs. These are simple little plastic diopter discs which are "removeable/reuseable or disposable." Simply peel and stick onto your glasses. They come 8 to a sheet and believe it or not, they only cost $5.95 a sheet, plus shipping (about $8.50 shipped.) http://www.clear2target.com

And the great news.... they work! :D You'll need to move the disc around a bit on you glasses lens until you find the "sweet spot" that matches your shooting stance, but that only took me about 30 seconds. My sight picture was remarkably improved. I'm not certain how they work, but I think it is something about the eyes ability to focus between two objects. Then again.... who cares why.... they work like magic for me!

Happy Shooting :SCO: :SWI: :USA: :IRE: :GBR: :NET: :NZ: :FRA: :AUS: :CAN:

At a guess they work on the principal of the 'pin-hole camera', that a small hole in an opaque surface acts like a lens - if you need glasses and proof either poke a very small hole through something the size of a post card and try to read text (without glasses, of course) or alternatively, try reading without glasses under a very bright light*

That said, does anyone know if these 'Clear 2 Target' discs are available in the UK?

Tom

* The pupil of the eye is so closed in the bright light as to form its own 'pin-hole', negating some of the errors of the lens of the eye.

Hi

I was wondering the same thing , can you get them in the UK ? Cant imagine the postage would be that expensive to get some sent here if the supplier is prepared to do it .
