Here's a couple of shots of my recently acquired (today

) Omark Model 44 in 7.62mm.
As we Aussies are still subjects of the Queen I reckon this is a British Firearm.!!!
Single shot as manufactured and designed for target shooting at all ranges within the capability of the round.

PS. Watch this forum for some self induced back slapping as I shoot the pants off the opposition

Eoin,
That is a really nice looking rifle. I am looking forward to a detailed report on how it shoots.

There is only one problem with rifles like that Eoin you have no excuses, now a shot out dog like Joes Martini carbine means that you have something to blame when you get those 100 yrd 12 ft groups.
When you have a bona fide tack driver it can only be operator error.
Look forward to the range report and test drive.

Test drive tomorrow. Saturday. Using it in a 400yd match at Inverell about 45 miles from here. Two 12 round shoots. 10 to count, if the 2 sighters are kept then only another 8 to score.
Trouble is I only have 21 rounds, will have to get on target in a hurry. Of course I could buy some but I'm one mean reloader.(take that any way you like

)

Well, you're gunna have to wait awhile
Best that I managed was 68/100 at 400yds, that was on a target with a
3 and a 1/2 inch ten ring so I' not unhappy.
Used the 7.7 for the second string and shot 50/100
Unfortunately I couldn't get the group sises as this was a pull down and patch out affair.
The Omark is sweet to shoot but I think I'll load it down a bit from the military ammo I was using. Got 60 rounds this morning, headstamped AFN, anybody know this stuff? Berdan primed and I'm not taking any chances on the corrosion factor. There has already been a good boiling water treatment.

PS. That's not me.
