Milsurp After Hours

I think it would be good to encourage more in depth posts at this site on milsurps and what members of the site observe about the weapons they have in their collections and are willing to share with us. With this notion I am offering this contest.

The object is to encourage more posts that contribute to the general interest and knowledge about milsurp weapons at this site.

I'll pick what I think are the top contenders and award a first , second and third place prize on the last Sunday in May.

There is no particular description of the kind of post that would attract my attention. But one that, besides being informative, also attracts other comments or questions would be a good indication of what I'll be looking to see in a winning post. Posts exactly duplicated at other sites, in so far as I become aware of it, will not win any prize. The idea is to promote this site as worthwhile and unique. Also....numbers of posts, with interesting content, made by one person in responses or in new subjects may be considered by total effort for second or third place.

I rewrote this contest description slightly to give a little clearer wording and deleted some of the subsequent question posts as confusing. I also expanded 2nd or 3rd place to possibly considering a body of contributions by one person over the time period.

As of the moment, this notion seems to have discouraged more serious posts than it has promoted. One or two of the jokes in the funnies forum are starting to look like strong possibilities as eventual winners.

Without having this in mind I've been preparing a post on my Indian Lee .410, (not strictly a Lee-Enfield as it doesn't have Enfield rifling ).
Expect the post by Wednesday.

Earlier than expected, it is a sunny day so I grabbed the opportunity

Next comes some performance photos as I work up a smokeless load. Couple of days hence (if the weather holds).

The head on that front screw should be smaller to be up to British spec? I got two 1MKIII versions that both came through India at one time or another. They both have nose caps that look like yours down to the screw heads. Must be an Ishaphore thing.
