ON IT'S WAY.............

Thought that you might like to see my K98k which is now complete (repro bits) and with the Lyman 57 SME sight.
I took the pics for an advert as I am trying to sell it and all the re-loading kit to fund a Skeet barrel for my Benelli and a percussion rifle kit.
Without a steady income it isn't possible to save up ( nothing to save

) and my pension is still 3 years away so it's sell to buy.
At least there isn't a shortage of Mausers here as there is SMLE's so if I win the lottery I can buy another
As I am the only forum member living in France there is no possibility of selling it here so I hope I am not breaching the NO SALES rule Robert

It is advertised on a French site,
http://www.naturabuy.fr/MAUSER-K98k-194 ... 23676.html which is worth a look around. Just got an offer on it so maybe its sold!

SOLD! To a guy in the Var region of France.
Calculations indicate that a new barrel for the Benelli would cost between 500 & 700 €

Not quite what I had in mind.
So, a BP Muzzle Loading rifle and mold for me................but not sure if I will buy a kit or an in-line. Current thoughts are ;
All by Ardesa:
KITS
Ranger Rifle
Hawken Woodsman
BUILT RIFLES
Hawken Woodsman
Evolution S/S
Tracker S/S
Vortex Cerakote S/S
Anyone got any thoughts ?

Blooming heck, it didn't take long to sell the Mouser Duncan.
I think i would be tempted to go for one of the BP rifle kits, only cos i haven't done anything like that before.

Don't mess about here Joe!!
I am leaning towards the kit for the same reason but the in lines certainly have an appeal, especially in Stainless Steel
Still, cash the cheque first ther spend it eh

In lines are something I never had an interest in. In the US they seem to be used by hunters that want to participate in the BP season but don't really like BP guns. It's kinda like having a bicycle with training wheels attached because you are afraid of not being able to balance it on your own. To me, the traditional sidelock or flintlock is the only way to go. You get the experience of what it was like back in the day when the original BP guns were the state of the art.

Cheque arrived today!
Spent the afternoon discussing things with my pal and finally decided that a kit, although an interesting project, may well fall flat on it's face when it comes to bluing the barrel.
With that in mind I have ordered an Ardesa Hawken Woodsman Rifle with a Beech stock and double set triggers. It will be at the gunshop in Bordeaux in 2 weeks maximum.
So, have ordered a Lee .440 mold and will cast some ball for it.
I might even run to a BP pistol if I am sneaky!!

WOW that rifle sold very quickly Duncan.
I had to google for the Ardesa Hawken Woodsman rifle.
That is one fantastic looking rifle.
IMHO a great choice.
Don't forget to post some pictures when it arrives.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Martin
BTW:
Go for that BP pistol.
I won't tell your wife.
