PH-5C question

I have a question about the markings on my PH-5C. The scale on the left for elevation is in minutes but is the right in yards or meters? I am assuming that it is calibrated to Mk7 ball?
The other question is what is the purpose of the 0-5 scale in the center? I know what the 0 is but what is the rest of the scale for?
There is also 0-5 left and right on the windage scale.

Welcome to the world of the Vernier scale... check here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernier_scale
Basically, it allows you to read exactly to Minute of angle on your sight. As it's a C, it will have 8 clicks for each minute (or is that 4?) Just have a read through the wikepedia article, it explains how to use the scale.

Wow! I had no idea how complicated this can get. Makes me really appreciate the dial scale on my caliper.
I have an extra forestock and lower handguard that I want to have modified to L39 length then free float the barrel then try it out in our monthly 3x600 matches.
The knobs are marked 1/4 minute so it should be 4 clicks per minute.
