Hi Ned,

thanks for the pictures and an interesting experiment, why though? Any particular reason, to make a handier hunting rifle for instance or just the fun of doing it?

I suppose the burning question for most of the collectors here is what was the hosts original condidtion like? I can't make out the stampings but it looks like a Lithgow 1926?

How does she shoot, No 1 MK111s can a bit sensitive in the forend and reciever bedding departments, how did you approach this with the new forend or does the shortening of the barrel obviate this?

The original rifle was an absoulete basket case!!

The only thing worth saving was the reciever and mag. even the bolt was broken.an old forend cut back is the one on it now.I just need to get hold or make a one piece handguard.

It shoots just as well as a standard rifle.

Nothing spectacular but it holds nice groups out to 300.

The idea was just to do a project, utilizing bits and pieces and try to get as close as possible to an original. Never afford one of those !!!

Cheers
