Milsurp sites are in a down market seems like

This site isn't exactly booming at the moment. We continue to get new site registrations...... but few new registered users seem to have anything on their mind that they feel like posting. And at the same time, many old members either have drifted off altogether or post less and less frequently. You will also note how the "moderators" are culled as moderators after they drift off too...and a lot of the moderators have bitten the dust over the years. It's not just here though that the doldrums strike. I look at other sites and I can see it in lots of other places too. A lot of hot air fills up space that used contain collector comments during a once upon a time booming milsurp market. At least now we don't get much of what has taken its place.... chiefly political rants........, unless I make one...... or I offer an objection to one that raises its head and thus tick the poster off for not agreeing with him. Nor do we yet have forums dedicated to trading in one forum and another, equally filled with posts, for a list of who did you wrong. And we haven't sunken to the point where that most telltale example of nothing left to talk about....the forum for people to lament about their recently departed pet cat, dog, snake, goldfish, etc., with an occasional dead real person, met or unmet, thrown in from time to time.......often resulting in equally heart felt responses of sympathy to the more artful of the lamentations.
Maybe gun sites have been infected by the mindset of Facebook. I hope the trend doesn't continue. I can't think of anything more pointless than Facebook........unless you just like reading "look at me" posts that talk at people rather than to them along with occasional links to favorite discoveries on Utube and some totally unexplainable nonsense called "farmville". Nobody ever learned anything from any Facebook page......at least the few I've seen. Oh... and even I blush to say that I have a Facebook page since several friends insisted I join them in it and become one their "friends" .......but I'm ashamed to admit it and will go looking to see how to close it as soon as I post this.
What we really need is a few ship loads of assorted milsurps at cheap prices to land ....... or for fully auto rifles to become C&R. M16's are about 50 years old now, aren't they?
