I found this beast hanging on the wall at the local gun emporium. Almost afraid to ask what it cost, but came to find out, it was reasonably priced at just under $900 OTD, especially since it came with a scope & mount, 2 stocks, a couple USGI mags, and a hardshell case. Oh yeah, the receiver is a Springfield M1A that left eh factory as a receiver only way back in 1980. The barrel is a USGI SAK National Match barrel, bolt is TRW, trigger group is HRA, all parts are USGI and has NM sights on it.

She shoots lights out too...

That is one nice looking rifle PB, and at $900 sounds like a bargain to me.

The M14 is one of the best looking "proper calibre" battle rifles, IMHO.

If it was mine i would have that scope off it though, it spoils the lines of the rifle, again, IMHO of course ;)

[envious voice] Hey, that's a good one there....a steal of a price as well, at least compared to what they go for here. [/envious voice]

Yeah, this one being a low SN, National Match barrel, sights, and op-rod spring guide, as well as all GI parts and the added accessories, was a deal I couldn't walk away from.

This is the only sub-$1000 M1A I've seen in these parts, and even the Chinese guns are getting close to $800 here.

This one is a tack driver. The NM SAK barrel gauged out at near perfect.

I'm a happy camper :D
