Beretta M9 or the Browning 1911?

It has been argued that the current military use by the US military of the Baretta 9mm auto is a bad choice over the time tested Browning designed .45 acp 1911. However, maybe it is the right choice and the military looks like it plans on keeping the 9mm as the main side arm of choice. I saw this pretty good story about why this may be.

Everyone's a f***ing EXPERT - as usual. When I shot side arms I enjoyed the Hi-Power but my job as an infantry soldier required better kit - I had it with my FN FAL and lost it with my SA80!

I'd be happy with either pistol as a service arm.
On a different note what is the FC code on the 9millie ammo? I have some newly acquired 30.30 cases with the same stamp and am curious about them.

I agree, Federal.
But Prvi Partisan and Departmento de la Industrial Militar, Mexico City, Mexico also share that headstamp.

back to topic , my son is a firm believer in the berretta he has a 92 in 9mm and a 96 [civilian version of the 92A1] in 40cal ,
he fit crimson trace grips to the 92 , and a viridian green lazer to the inox 96 , i cant hit well with them but he can ,
i find no issue with the handgun as a whole , but will stick with my 1911 & hi power
