POWDER SOURCES DRY UP!

I wanted to buy some Black Powder while in Bordeaux yesterday visiting the main gun shop there. I asked for a tub of PNF2 and was told, without any sort of apology, that they no longer stocked any powder, Black or Smokeless
I was aware that the rules for the storing of powders was going to change for people selling it but this change was somewhat abrupt!
Storage at gun shops has now to be in a fireproof room that is able to be secured properly. The rules for storing it by the purchaser have not changed - you keep it where you like!
I contacted the other 2 gun shops in Bordeaux to see if they had any, No and NO! One said they were not going to stock it anymore the other said they were but had no idea when they would be getting a further supply.
As a last resort I contacted a small gun shop in Jonzac where our club is - no problem, they had 3 tubs on the shelf. It has gone up a bit though - 39€ / £33.20 / $52 a pound
I asked if they were going to continue to stock it? "Of course, why not" was the reply. I just hope that they don't decide "why not"

Damn! That's over three times what it costs here.

But finding actual BP is getting hard. I don't know where to find it off the shelf where I live. Only thing is to order it in bulk and pay the one hazmat fee.

Best place to buy is Maine Powder House. Met the owner years ago at an NRA convention in Pittsburgh. He's a member over on The Muzzleloader Message Board also.

Where was that? Beckchasse?
Their prices are very good but I notice they no longer have black powder of any sort on their website.
39€ for 500g of PNF2 is very expencive. Have you tried to buy online?
I got 2x500g of PNF2 for 59€ deliverd from an online retailer last week.
If you look about there are quite a few places selling powder, one place I came across sells 500g of PNC for 21.50€ (OK for rifles but maybe not so good for pistols)
If you want links just let me know

Yes, I used to by my BP at Beck's but they just stopped selling any powder overnight

Same with Tronel Arms and Roumiac
When I next need some I will probably buy from Tecmagex
http://tecmagex.com or Artmurerie de Strasbourg
http://www.recht.fr/ If you have any others I'd be interested

Tecmagex are a waste of time, I've had nothing but problems with them in the past

I don't think they actually stock anything at all

shame really because a few years ago they were very good. If I remember an English guy was running the company, I don't know if he still is?
I got my BP from here last week

I have also bought from this place too with no problems.

Here's another place but I havn't used them yet so I can't comment.

I think Beckchasse's prices are very good but their customer service sucks bigtime!!!!!!! They ignor emails outright!!!!!!! and it takes forever to get them on the phone (they are pleasent when you do get hold of them)

Beck doesn't understand the meaning of the phrase Customer Service, he is pig ignorant HOWEVER there is a guy working for him called Romain who IS very good.
Thanks for the links, I will check them out. I buy my LEE stuff at Henry Kranks now, much better prices. I just bought a Lee .303B mold and a universal powder funnel and including postage I saved 17€ on Tecs prices!
