National WWI Museum in Kansas City

I saw this string at another site. usmilitariaforms.com One guy visited the National WWI Museum in Kansas City and posted some interesting photos over several pages showing many of the US war objects that are on display there.

I just wish I could get to the museum.


I always find the minutiae quite fascinating.

There are one or two items which seem to be either of British manufacture or at least British pattern.

I couldn't help noticing the box of "Swan Vesta" matches - were/are they sold in the US or would these be a British bought item in the soldier's possession? (the brand is still going on this side of the pond).

I've never seen that matches brand in the US......as far as I can remember. I'd guess they were of British origin like you surmise.

i noticed that red poster on the front entry sports an enfeild in the trench ....
